Veterans Return From Honor Flight

Honor Flight Upstate transported 100 veterans of World War II and the Korean War to Washington DC to visit their Memorials on Tuesday, October 28, 2014.

Sponsored By Carry-On Trailer , the veterans, their guardians and support staff left Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport early in the morning to spend the day visiting the World War II and Korea Memorials along with attending the Change of the Guards and laying a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknowns in Arlington Cemetary. Along the way, the veterans were greeted and applauded by other travelers and visitors.

Over 500 people, bands, and honor guards greeted the veterans at the welcome home ceremony later that evening. Each veteran was greeted as they arrived at the top of the stairway with waves and cheers from the crowd.

Thank you to the Honor Flight staff, the guardians, and medical personel who made this trip a rousing success.
